Adoption Policy

Must be aged 18 years or older.

Tick.png

Misrepresentation or omissions in adoption applications may result in the loss of privilege to adopt from Strong Hearts Cat Rescue.

Tick.png

Strong Hearts Cat Rescue is not able to guarantee the health or temperament of any cat, as many cats come with unknown histories when transferred to us. There are traits that could change upon adoption. The adopter must take responsibility for, and address these issues if they do arise.

Tick.png

Adopter must agree that if they are no longer able to care for their adopted cat, they will contact Strong Hearts Cat Rescue immediately to discuss return or need for help of the adopted cat.

Tick.png

Adopter must agree that if the adopted cat becomes lost or missing, they will immediately contact Strong Hearts Cat Rescue.

Tick.png

Adopter must attest that the cat they are adoption is for themselves, in their home, and NOT a gift for anyone.

Tick.png

Adopter is responsible for paying all follow-up vaccinations, wellness visits and veterinary procedures the adopted may require in the future from the day of adoption.

Tick.png

Adopter releases and indemnifies Strong Hearts Cat Rescue from all costs associated with any pre-existing medical conditions in relation to the adopted cat (if applicable).

Tick.png

Adopter confirms they have never been convicted of an animal related crime such as cruelty to animals, animal theft or animal abandonment.

Tick.png

Adopter agrees to keep the adopted cat indoors. The adopted cat should only be permitted outside if kept safely in an entirely closed and secure enclosure or on a lead with a harness. It is unacceptable to only have a 'high walled' fence. More information on our indoor cat policy can be found here.
